Public Notice to Lafayette Parish Citizens

Louis J. Perret, Clerk of Court and Chief Election Official for the
Parish of Lafayette will hold meetings as follows:

COMMISSIONER-IN-CHARGE TESTING

Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at 5:30 PM
Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 5:30 PM

LOCATION:
Lafayette Parish Courthouse
1st Floor, Jury Assembly Room

You do NOT need to let us know when you will attend!

THESE TESTS ARE FOR
CURRENT COMMISSIONERS-IN-CHARGE
AND
QUALIFIED/CERTIFIED COMMISSIONERS WHO ARE INTERESTED

IN BECOMING COMMISSIONERS-IN-CHARGE.


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

You must possess all the qualifications of an election commissioner as listed in R. S. 18:425 of the Election Code, in addition to the following:

  1. All prospective Commissioners-In-Charge must attend a school of instruction at least once a year in accordance with R.S. 18:424 of the Election Code.

  2. You must be a certified Commissioner HAVING SERVED IN AT LEAST TWO (2) ELECTIONS during the last four (4) years.

Names of Commissioners-In-Charge for 2023 will be drawn at random by the Board of Election Supervisors at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 13, 2023, in the Pelican Room on the 2nd Floor, Clerk of Court Office.
